INSPIRATION

Wilderness backpacking in the California Sierras, the sheer, subtle joy of witnessing the soaring mountains at dawn, reflected in lakes with mirror surfaces softened by rising mists, was powerful. As it was being in the days, flooded with light. This painting is inspired by the awe of those memories, and the primacy of nature.
